FINISH Mondial will be participating in the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC) held between March 5th-8th 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda. The conference’s theme this year is “Resilient Health Systems for Africa: Re-envisioning the Future Now” and will bring together Africa’s top thought leaders, political figures, innovators, researchers, policy makers, health workers and community mobilisers for dialogue and action aimed at mainstreaming climate discourse into health policy conversations, and vice versa.

Our Supervisory Board Chair, Ms. Sarbani Bhattacharya will be presenting in the parallel session 8 “Saving Planet Earth: Engaging Africa’s Youth to Lead Climate action” on the 8th of March from 14h00-15h30 in room MH3 (see programme and below). She will explore how climate change adaptation and mitigation could be triggered by safe and sustainable sanitation; present the preventive health aspects of sanitation, its influence on gender parity, financial inclusion and the role of youth in contributing to the circular economy and how this could influence the global response to the climate crisis.

We will also have a booth, so don’t forget to drop in! Booth number 10, adjacent to the registration area, on its righthand side.

The conference will kick off with the AHAIC 2023 Wogging event on 5th March to coincide with the Kigali Car Free Day, which takes place every first and third Sunday of the month as part of efforts to make Kigali a green city and strengthen efforts to combat non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This will be followed by three days of plenaries, high level meetings, workshops and networking sessions.
