As the 9th edition of Africa Water Week (AWW9) approaches, FINISH Mondial is gearing up for active participation. Under the theme, “Placing Water and Sanitation at the Heart of Achieving Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want,” AWW9 will address pressing issues in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) and efficient resource management across Africa. This year’s event will review progress toward the Africa Water Vision 2025 and initiate discussions on a post-2025 vision, with a focus on financing, investments, sanitation, water supply, infrastructure, and other critical areas.

We are thrilled to contribute to these important conversations by hosting a session titled “Driving Sustainable WASH Investments in Africa.” This session will explore how innovative financing models can bridge Africa’s significant WASH funding gap. Together with our partners at WASTE, Cardano, UNICEF, UN-Habitat and the African Water and Sanitation Association, we will delve into the challenges and solutions involved in mobilising private investment, highlighting the roles of microfinance and blended finance, and showcase how FINISH Mondial is successfully implementing these models across Africa and Asia. Experts from various sectors will join us to discuss scalable strategies that drive universal access to safe and affordable WASH services.

We also look forward to connecting, collaborating, and exchanging ideas with you. Whether you are interested in our projects, considering a partnership, or have ideas to share, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out at finishmondial@waste.nl to arrange a meeting.

Stay tuned for further updates as we prepare for this impactful event. Don’t forget to register your interest and join these vital discussions that will shape the future of water and sanitation in Africa.

The financing gap to ensure universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services in Africa is huge, with an estimated additional $20-30 billion needed annually. To bridge this gap, we must work together to unlock private investment. In this session find out how FINISH Mondial is turning this into reality by employing innovative financing models in Africa and Asia, with a key focus on leveraging microfinance and blended finance solutions. We will be joined by experts from across sectors to unpack the challenges involved in mobilising private investment and explore ways to scale solutions, and you too will have the chance to add your voice to the discussions.
