In Uganda…
…access to safe sanitation remains low, 3 out of the 10 households do not have a latrine, and nearly a tenth of the population practice open defecation. Low access is attributed to a weak sanitation supply chain, low knowledge of sanitation and hygiene among households, and limited financing options. Currently, the financing gap is estimated at $26 million for sanitation and hygiene per year.
