Our female masons in Uganda are featured in Smart Water Magazine. The specialist magazine for the global water sector has just published an article telling the story of Tweheyo Naume, who at only 23 has already constructed more than 80 safe sanitation systems and trained more than 40 other women in her community to follow in her footsteps. In Uganda, 45 percent of the sanitation masons trained under FINISH Mondial, are female. An unlikely career choice for a women in the Ugandan rural context, and certainly not the easiest, but one that has boosted the economic strength of the women involved, while at the same time improving lives and livelihoods in the communities they work in.
